THE ROOTS OF REBETIKO

Das Musikensemble EN CHORDAIS führt uns nach Kleinasien und Konstantinopel, in die Zeit anfangs des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts, die Jahre um die Kleinasische Katastrophe. Die Flüchtlinge bringen den Smyrneika mit nach Griechenland, eine Musik gespielt auf Lyra oder Violine, Oud, Kanun – aber ohne Bouzouki. Getanzt wird dazu der Zeimpekiko, der Hasapiko, der Tsifteteli und der Karsimalas. Es sind die Wurzeln des Rembetiko... nicht verpassen!
